Antique locket rings come to us from the Georgian and Victorian eras. They were a popular style, most often with a metal top to enclose a photo or memento, with diamonds or enamel often taking center stage as far as what is visible to the wearer. Sometimes they were referred to as poison rings, so that one may put a pill or poisonous substance (yup, you heard right: poison!) and keep it on their ring to later inflict upon someone or themselves. Whether a small portrait was placed inside, or a flower, or a lock of hair, or even poison - it’s no surprise that these pieces became extremely sentimental, and we find that there are so few in the market today.

Flash forward to now, when we came across this incredible 3.07ct elongated portrait cut. It has the most incredible spread across the finger, and seemed to be the perfect candidate for a locket top. After much toying around and fighting with our jewelers, this beauty was born and nothing was the same, as they say!

This unique ring is of our own design, and its quite the looker on the finger. The diamond is bezel set in a sliding mechanism that moves it up and down the ring - allowing for one to place their own personal memento in the locket component. The matte finished gold along the surface is prime for an engraving (if that’s your jam), but can also easily fit something like a small photo, a lock of hair, or perhaps a dried wedding flower. A diamond locket ring designed to be both functional and beautiful - we are absolutely in love.

Diamond measures 14.91 x 8.76 x 2.00mm.

18kt yellow gold, size 6, and fully sizable.
