Torsades are those fabulously twisted necklaces that became all the rage back in the late 19th century. Picture strands of beads, pearls, or chains, all twisted together in a playful mess around your neck. They burst onto the fashion scene during the Victorian era, adding a touch of elegance and whimsy to women's attire. Initially, torsades were often worn with evening gowns for fancy soirées, but they quickly became popular for daytime wear as well.   This particular vintage torsade is by iconic jewelry designer Angela Cummings for Tiffany & Co, with multiple layers of gorgeous mother of pearl beads strung together and held in place by her signature clasp in mother of pearl and gold.  

The perfect finishing touch to any outfit - be it a an uncomplicated tee, or evening wear.  Super chic!
