This Georgian-era glass seal has an unusual mottled effect which we love, it speaks to the age of the piece, and that’s just the beginning! We have a lovely hand-carved beehive which is surrounded by a bevy of adorable bees hovering round their hive – you can almost hear their excited buzz! But that’s not all, we have two anchors - one on either side of the hive - with the motto: Hope & Industry…the Georgian way of saying “Hope & Hard Work”. There’s a reason we use the phrase ‘busy as a bee’...In the 1800’s and beyond, bees were considered a symbol of hard work and of being industrious little creatures, hence representing the idea of hard work or industry. The anchor has long been associated with the notion of hope. Here we have the perfect combination of hope and hard work. We think this would be a wonderfully inspiring send-off for a recent graduate, or perhaps someone embarking on a new path…a new business venture perhaps? Or maybe someone switching careers midstream, or going back to school? After all, nothing is impossible with hard work and a little hope, right?! This little gem hails from southeast England, and measures 19cm x 15cm. It is presented in 14kt yellow gold, on an 18” yellow gold rolo chain, in Seal & Scribe’s Signature setting.
